Taimur Jhagra has requested KP’s right; do not dare silence him. By Asad Umar

The PTI answers the army's outrage at Imran Khan's statement

Asad Umar, the secretary general of the PTI, supported the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister of finance Taimur Jhagra on Saturday. Jhagra had come under fire for refusing to comply with an important International Monetary Fund (IMF) condition. After Jhagra wrote to Finance Minister Miftah Ismail the previous day, stating that it would be “near to impossible” for the province to generate a surplus this fiscal year, Umar made his comments.

He pleaded with the government to settle unresolved concerns such budget allocations for the formerly federally administered tribal area (FATA) and regular payments of net hydel revenues in accordance with agreed-upon parameters. In his letter, Jhagra said that KP had offered its support within 24 hours and that the province administration was prepared to help the federal government, but that there had been no contact between the two governments for two months.

Don’t you dare attempt to silence Taimur Jhagra since he is arguing for the rights of the province, Umar warned. The administration, according to him, “is trying to shift the responsibility for its own failings” on Jhagra, he added.Because “no agreement with the IMF has been achieved in four and a half months,” according to the PTI leader, the federal government is “incompetent.”According to Umar, Nawaz Sharif has “testedified to his ineptitude,” while Miftah Ismail blames PTI for failing to reach an IMF agreement.
