The US will soon permit access to Pakistan via direct flights

Since Joe Biden’s administration has promised Pakistan that it is prepared to take action for the resume of direct Pakistan International Airlines flights to the US, a significant development in relations between Pakistan and the US is anticipated.

Salman Sufi, the head of the prime minister’s strategic reforms unit, met with Elizabeth Horst, the deputy assistant secretary of state for the bureau of south and central asia, at the US Department of State, according to a statement issued by the Pakistani Embassy in Washington.

Sufi underlined Shehbaz Sharif’s plan for strategic changes at the discussion and spoke about methods to improve bilateral ties between the two nations.Sufi met with the delegation of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as part of PM Shehbaz’s reforms and urged them to move the process for the resume of PIA direct flights from Pakistan to the United States as quickly as possible.

In order to resume direct flights, the US side “conveyed its readiness to have technical conversations with the Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant departments and undertaking appropriate visits,” according to a statement.
