Sharma Will Probably Be Replaced by Pandya on BCCI Selection Committee

As the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) goes through significant changes, Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder for India, is set to take Rohit Sharma’s place as T20I captain. After India’s repeated failures in key ICC events, rumours claim that the whole BCCI selection committee, chaired by former cricketer Chetan Sharma, has been fired.

In an effort to improve Indian cricket following a dismal performance in the recently ended 2022 T20 World Cup, the BCCI has opened up applications for the five-person selection committee.

Recently, Roger Binny took over as president of the Indian Board in place of Sourav Ganguly, bringing about a significant upheaval. The BCCI is anticipated to make some significant changes under Binny’s leadership, including the removal of Rohit Sharma as T20I captain.

After Team India’s loss in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals, Rohit Sharman’s leadership in the shortest version of the game has come into question. Cricket analysts were disappointed with Rohit’s leadership as India failed to compete at their best in the mega-event.

Given that he led Gujarat Titans to the Indian Premier League (IPL) championship in their inaugural season, Hardik Pandya is regarded as the ideal candidate for the captaincy position.

Pandya was already named India’s T20I captain for the series against New Zealand, and it is anticipated that he will keep the position as the country begins to get ready for the T20 World Cup in 2024.
