Punjab releases its winter vacation schedule

For the province’s public and private schools and colleges, the Punjab government has established a two-phased  winter vacation timetable.

In two distinct phases, from 23 December 2022 to 6 January 2023 and from 3 to 13 January, respectively, it is said that schools and colleges in 24 districts of Punjab will be closed for the winter holidays.

From December 23 to January 6, 2023, schools in the following districts will be closed: Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikupura, Okara, Vehari, Lahore, Khanewal, Khushab, Hafizabad, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Lodhran, Nankan.

Rajanpur, Jhelum, Mianwali, Attock, Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, and Chiniot are additional districts where winter vacations will begin on January 3 and last on January 13.

A high-level meeting to examine and improve higher education in the state was presided over by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, on Tuesday.

It was determined at the meeting to reinstate sports programmes in all school settings in an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle in society. The independence of the colleges’ finances was again emphasised by the meeting attendees.

The conference was attended by Aamir Saeed Raan, the chief adviser to the CM, Abdullah Sumbal, the chief secretary, and the secretary of higher education.
