Federal authorities in Pakistan confirmed the existence of the poliovirus in seven locations after environmental samples were collected from different towns throughout the country.
Four Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities have reportedly tested positive for the poliovirus, according to authorities. For testing, sewage samples from Peshawar, Bannu, Nowshera, and Swat were gathered.
Additionally, polio has been discovered in samples of sewage from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. There are already 13 confirmed cases of polio in North Waziristan and one in Laki Marwat, according to federal officials.
