Pakistan's badminton team advances to the pre-quarterfinals at the Commonwealth Games

BIRMINGHAM: Irfan Bhatti and Murad Ali, a badminton team from Pakistan, easily advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Thursday.

The men’s doubles team defeated Jarred Elliot and Robert Summers of South Africa by a score of 2-0 to advance to the next round of the badminton competition.

Both players put on a strong performance, controlling the match with victories of 19-21 and 17-21 in straight sets. They were successful in securing a spot in the Commonwealth Games pre-quarterfinals in 2022.

Today’s opponents for the Pakistani team will be Rakireddy Satwik Sairaj and Shetty Chirag Chandrashekhar from India (on Friday).In another Men’s Singles match, Jia Heng Teh of Singapore stunned Pakistan’s Murad Ali by defeating him by scores of 14-21 and 16-21.
