Imran Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, staged a three-hour long international telethon on Monday to raise money for flood victims across the nation.Several celebrities joined Imran Khan during the telethon. Pervaiz Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab, Mahmood Khan, the former prime minister’s social protection assistant Sania Nishtar, and others made appearances in the telethon.
The event’s moderator, Senator Faisal Javed Khan, claimed that during a three-hour flood telethon, the former prime minister raised more than Rs5 billion in donations.Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI , claimed during the live telethon that floods caused by consecutive monsoon rains have damaged the entire country of Pakistan.
According to him, “more than 1,000 people have died as a result of the disastrous floods, and the damages are anticipated to exceed Rs1,000 billion.”According to the previous prime minister, the nation will need to build more dams in order to protect its citizens from further destruction.
“Building dams is the only way to stop the calamities brought on by a flood.”Amir Khan, a British-Pakistani boxer, joined the telethon and pledged Rs. 5 million towards flood victims. In attendance at PTI’s live telethon, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan announced Rs30 million for flood victims.
