Sindh's cotton harvest is destroyed by floods, leaving farmers devastated

After days of violent monsoon rains stopped, Pakistani farmer Sajid Ali wades glumly across his flooded cotton crop to assess the irreparable harm.”My entire six-acre crop has been all but ruined.

There is no longer any hope because the fields are still submerged under four feet of water “He spoke from the little community of Masoo Burburi in the Sindh region. After extremely heavy monsoon rainfall this year, floods have severely affected southern Pakistan.

Numerous fatalities have occurred, and numerous homes have been completely destroyed. Around 50 villages in Sindh were submerged as a result of flash floods from the neighbouring province of Balochistan flowing over and ruining thousands of acres of orchards and agricultural land.

One of the hardest hit was the town of Ali. It is home to about 60 households, most of whom work in agriculture by growing wheat, cotton, and chilies.
