Pakistan is devastated by record floods, which claim hundreds of lives

Flooding that has killed hundreds of people over the past two days has directly affected hundreds of thousands of people in Pakistan as a result of the constant rain.The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday gave the go-ahead to speed up rescue and relief efforts in flood-affected districts as well as the prompt relocation of those who are stranded there.

Tens of thousands of people are currently at the mercy of an extraordinary monsoon season that has wreaked devastation throughout Pakistan in addition to flooding vast areas, destroying infrastructure, and causing landslides.The flood situation in the province of Balochistan was reviewed by PM Shehbaz during today’s meeting, and he was given a detailed update on the damage that the floods in the province have caused as well as the current rescue and relief efforts.

In addition to providing tents, food, and potable drinking water, the prime minister issued instructions for making preparations to distribute flood relief cash of Rs 25,000 per affected family.PM Shehbaz ordered the Ministry of Planning, the Government of Balochistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to take immediate action.

He issued a warning to the relevant authorities, saying that any indulgence or suspension of the relief efforts in flood-affected areas would not be tolerated.
