NDMA reports that 1,186 people have died in floods

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), at least 19 more people have perished as a result of widespread flash floods across the nation over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 1,186.The most recent 12 fatalities, according to the NDMA data, occurred in Sindh, KP, and Balochistan, respectively. Nine children are among the dead.

There are 416 children and 244 women among the dead. In the meantime, 4896 individuals had been hurt as a result of the devastating flood.After more than 1,000 people perished in the recent flooding in Pakistan, including 380 children, the United Nations dubbed it a “unprecedented climatic tragedy.”A staggering 15.4 inches of rain fell on the nation in August alone, which is double the typical amount.

Communities have been completely destroyed by flash floods. According to reports, 15% of the population is currently affected and one-third of the country is under water.Pakistan urgently needs close to $160 million, the UN warned.Due to stagnant water, experts worry about the growth of water-borne diseases.People have been left without access to basic necessities including food, clean water, clothing, and medicine because of flash floods.
