Mosque explosion in Kabul claims at least ten lives

KABUL: On Wednesday night, a mosque was bombed, killing at least ten people, among them a well-known preacher, and injuring 27 others.According to a hospital source, there are also children among the injured.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban leadership, stated there were fatalities and injuries from the explosion but did not provide specific numbers.”The perpetrators and killers of citizens… will soon be punished for their crimes,” he tweeted.

The explosion happened as worshippers were saying their evening prayers at the mosque.Under the condition of anonymity, the eyewitness identified the deceased cleric as Mullah Amir Mohammad Kabuli. Additionally, he stated that at least 30 individuals had been hurt.

A representative for the Italian NGO Emergency, which is based in a hospital in Kabul, said 27 bomb patients, including three fatalities, were brought to the facility.The majority of the victims we received following the explosion inside a mosque are suffering from shell and burn injuries.
