KARACHI: The monsoon season is likely to deliver torrential rains to Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, as it continues unabated across the country.According to weather forecasts, the metropolis would experience heavy rainfall tomorrow (Tuesday) night, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz.
Heavy rains are anticipated in the city from tomorrow night until August 18, according to the chief meteorologist.However, he added that rain in the city will be moderate to light today.Rain is expected to continue in upper Sindh through August 19, according to the top meteorologist.
The PMD had already warned that heavy rains could cause urban floods in Karachi between August 14-18.Rains in Karachi and around the country have killed over 600 people since the start of this year’s monsoon season, with Balochistan bearing the brunt of the toll, with more than 180 civilians killed in rain and flood-related accidents.
