In a case involving the violation of Section 144 in Islamabad, the bail of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders was extended by a district and sessions court in Islamabad on Wednesday.At the start of the hearing, Imran Khan’s attorney Babar Awan stood before the court. Co-accused PTI officials Saifullah Niazi, Sadaqat Abbasi, Shehzad Waseem, and Faisal Javed Khan stood alongside him.
Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Asad Qaiser, and Faisal Vawda’s application for exemption from the court was accepted by Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal, who extended their release until September 27.On August 24, after he had called for protests across the country in support of his chief of staff, Shahbaz Gill, over the allegation that his party leader had endured “sexual assault” while being held in custody in connection with a sedition case, a FIR was filed against the former premier.
Asad Umar, Murad Saeed, Fawad Chaudhary, and Faisal Javed are just a few of the PTI leaders that are accused alongside Imran Khan in the case.The 17 individuals included in the FIR include Sheikh Rasheed as well.According to the FIR, Imran Khan and the party leaders broke Section 144. According to the FIR, PTI leaders and their over 1,000 followers blocked the route at Imran Khan’s direction.
