As rain continues to devastate Sindh, 15 people perish in house collapse accidents

Another 15 persons were killed in house collapse incidents in the districts of Sukkur, Shikarpur, and other areas of Sindh as a result of the ongoing devastation caused by heavy rains, leaving hundreds more families stranded and destitute.Tuesday saw heavy downpours in a number of Sindhi cities, including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Dadu, and Khairpur districts.

In the Chak neighbourhood in Shikarpur district, six members of the same family perished when the roof of their home fell. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the PPP, took note of the occurrence and gave Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah the order to offer urgent support to the deceased person’s heirs as well as rehabilitation.

Three children perished in Rohri as a result of a fallen roof, while Shamaila, a lady, died in the region of Sukkur after a wall of her home gave way. In Gherelo, three kids—Ehtesham, Bisma, and Kashyan—were killed when the top of their home collapsed.

In the meantime, a similar tragedy claimed the lives of two people in Hubbo Saeed Khan and Lakhi Ghulam Shah.According to reports, the Akhairaj dyke broke nearby district Umerkot after the water level in LBOD rose, inundating over 40 villages with mud buildings and cattle while the floodwater washed away roadways.

Due to their inability to approach Umerkot city, the stranded individuals require assistance and rescue. The victims of the rain in the districts of Khairpur, Sukkur, Qamber, and Dadu protested the lack of facilities.
