Six Indian policemen are killed as a bus plunges down a gorge in occupied Kashmir

At least six officers from India’s high-altitude border police were killed on Tuesday in controlled Kashmir when a bus carrying them went off a mountain road and crashed into a gorge, according to police.

According to Kashmir police on Twitter, the injured were being taken to an army hospital in Srinagar, the Himalayan region’s capital. Srinagar is some 90 kilometres (55 miles) away from the accident scene in the Anantnag district.

35 people, according to a police officer, survived the collision, albeit some suffered serious injuries.Members of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, a federal agency with a focus on high-altitude operations, were travelling in the bus. They were primarily travelling along the Indo-China border.
