ISLAMABAD: As the nation observes Youm-e-Istehsal to show support for their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the people of Kashmir and said the disagreement over the region has been a struggle of hope against insurmountable difficulties.
The prime minister said in a series of tweets that “the Jammu & Kashmir issue has been a war of hope against tremendous odds, of courage against fear, & of sacrifice against oppression.”
He stated that today is the sombre third anniversary of India’s illegal and unilateral acts on August 5, 2019, which sought to alter the IoJK’s internationally recognized disputed status and the territory’s demographic makeup.
According to PM Shehbaz, India has employed unrestrained force with total impunity over the past few decades.”Despite intimidation, torture, and other terrible human rights violations, courageous Kashmiris have persisted for decades. Indian oppression has not been able to weaken their will.”
