Pak vs Eng: Imam-ul-Haq would miss the final test in Karachi

Imam-ul-Haq, the starting opener for Pakistan against England, will not be included in the starting XI for the third Test, which will begin tomorrow (December 17) in Karachi at the National Stadium.

Due to a hamstring injury, the player will not be able to participate in the third and final Test.

Imam was brought to a hospital for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination on the third day of the second Test match against England in Multan after he “felt uneasy in his right hamstring.”

Without Imam, Mohammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper-batsman, and Abdullah Shafique opened Pakistan’s second innings.

But when the opener got back from the hospital, he was back on the ground. The third and final Test will not be played with Pakistani bowler Naseem Shah, the cricket board (PCB) announced Tuesday.

Shah is no longer able to play for the team, which already lacks pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, according to a statement from the board.

The fast bowler will go to Lahore, where he will visit the National High-Performance Centre for more evaluations before starting his recovery, according to the PCB.
