Russian forces stationed in Syria reported on Friday that on Thursday, four Israeli jets unleashed a total of 16 guided aerial bombs and four cruise missiles at a research facility in the city of Masyaf.
Two missiles and seven guided bombs were shot down by Syrian troops using anti-aircraft weapons made in Russia.Since helping President Bashar al-Assad win the civil war in 2015, Russian military have been stationed in Syria.
Israel has been launching assaults on what it has referred to be Iranian-linked sites in Syria for a number of years.Tehran-backed troops, notably Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have been stationed there to support Assad against opposition forces.
