ISLAMABAD: After the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) claimed that the PTI got funds from forbidden sources in the case involving prohibited funding, the ruling coalition launched a withering attack on Imran Khan, the party’s chairman, on Tuesday.
In a unanimous decision, the ECP found that billions of rupees worth of donations had been stolen from the United States of America, Australia, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the ECP decision, PTI received funding from 34 people and 351 businesses, including companies. In response to the ECP’s significant ruling, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Imran was “charged for breaking the Constitution” by the commission’s conclusion in the PTI’s case involving unlawful funding.
Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the PML-N, criticized Khan for being a “liar and money launderer” in a tweet that was sent out after the ECP order. She claimed that only Khan, a politician in Pakistan, had ever been found to be a liar, a dishonest money launderer, and working under outside pressure in a single verdict supported by indisputable evidence.
