Google pays quiet tribute to Queen Elizabeth's passing

In memory of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed on the previous day, Google is showing a muted grey version of her portrait on its home page.

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet, sent a tweet to His Royal Majesty expressing his sympathies and praising the queen for her leadership and public service.

He also extended his condolences to all of the people of the UK and the world.Google has previously changed its vibrant home page to grayscale on special occasions, like Memorial Day.

All devices can see the grayscale logo, including some Android phones’ Discover feeds.
