KARACHI: In Karachi’s Garden district on Tuesday, a hand grenade explosion claimed the lives of two police officers and injured another two. Constable Sabir, 45, and Shehzad, 40, two officials, were killed when the grenade exploded in front of the armoury at Garden headquarters, according to the police.
According to reports, Ali Gohar, 40, and Saeed, 55, both sustained injuries and are in severe condition. The hand grenade allegedly burst in the station’s armoury as it was being cleaned, according to the officials.
After the possibility of terrorism was eliminated, the occurrence was classified as an accident. According to police sources, the incident is still under investigation, and the bomb squad has also been called in.
