Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the country’s founder, passed away 74 years ago today, just 11 months after the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent won their independence. Pakistan is commemorating this event.
Jinnah spent his entire life fighting for a homeland specifically for Muslims, but he was unable to live to see his beloved nation flourish and he died.
In his speech on the anniversary, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that “the nation pays respect to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his tireless effort, vision, and leadership abilities in the fight for the rights of Muslims of the subcontinent.”

Governor and Sindh CM Murad visit the Mausoleum of Jinnah
While there, Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, and Agha Siraj Durrani, the acting governor of Sindh, paid a visit to the Mazar-e-Quaid Mausoleum and decorated Jinnah’s tomb with flowers. They also wrote their thoughts in the visitor’s book and recited the Fatiha.

The words of Quaid-e-Azam, according to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, also serve as a beacon for the country.
He asserted that by adhering to the Quaid-e-beliefs, Azam’s “we can solve Pakistan’s problems and move the nation in the correct direction.”
