The world should be aware of Pakistan’s huge sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on the eighth anniversary of the deadly Army Public School (APS) attack.
“Every year, December 16 reminds the entire nation of the agony and sorrow when the terrorists carried out crimes in APS Peshawar,” the PM wrote on his official Twitter account.
Shehbaz continued by saying that today is a day to remember the victims of the APS tragedy and to express sympathy for their loved ones.The people of Pakistan would never forget the martyrs’ sacrifices, he continued.

The prime minister added that the fight against terrorism will go on until it is “eliminated from our soil.”
“December 16 is the day on which the entire nation of Pakistan must unite against terrorism. We are still fighting this battle, and we will keep fighting it until we have completely eliminated it,” he stated.
Maryam Aurangzeb, the information minister, also paid tribute to the martyrs and stated that even now, eight years after, we are still unable to forget the tragedy.
The young children, the country’s future, were “targeted by the cowardly wicked elements and martyred,” the minister alleged.She underlined that the APS martyrs had unified the country in its fight against terrorism and declared that “this day will always remind us of the noble sacrifices of the APS martyrs.”
