SYDNEY: Pakistan team coach Matthew Hayden referred to captain Babar Azam as a “unique player,” cautioning the detractors not to be shocked when the skipper performs well in important matches.

Hayden compared Babar Azam to former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist, who struggled during the 2007 ODI World Cup but helped his country to win in the final, in his remarks at a news conference in Sydney.
