LAHORE: Syed Murtaza Mahmud, the federal minister for industries and production, has stated that the government is concentrating on helping local manufacturers to support the creation of employment opportunities and the promotion of exports.
The role of the private sector is vital in helping the government advance the nation by ensuring sustainable economic growth, according to Mahmud, who also said that the Ministry of Industries was actively working to hasten the growth of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
The minister said this while speaking with Mian Nauman Kabir, the head of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The government’s true goal, according to Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, was export-led growth, which would require free trade.
