Chelsea appeared prepared to kick off a new era at Stamford Bridge with a bang, taking the lead twice via Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James. Tottenham were far from the level necessary to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the title, but they demonstrated the newfound character instilled by Conte by fighting back for a point.
