TOKYO: Sony announced on Thursday that it would be raising the cost of its PlayStation 5 gaming console in a number of regions, including Europe, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
The IT behemoth claimed that the move was being made in response to pressures on the economy, notably rising interest rates.The disc drive-equipped version of the system will now cost 549.99 euros ($550.81), up from the previous price of 499.99 euros in Europe.
A similar price increase will also take place in Japan, according to Sony.There wouldn’t be any price increases in the United States.
