In an odd event, a man went to court and requested a divorce after his wife gained weight eight years into their marriage.The incident was reported in Meerut, a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, where a lady named Nazma said that her husband, Salman, had kicked her out of the house because she was fat and had then petitioned the court for a divorce.
The couple has been together for eight years and have a son who is seven. Nazma claims that her husband used to refer to her as being obese and frequently told her that he couldn’t live with a woman of her size.I still want to remain with my husband and do not want the divorce, she added, adding that he has filed for divorce and kicked me out of the house.
Nazma said that she had also filed a police complaint, but according to the police, no such incident has been documented thus far. However, the circular officer of Meerut claimed that action would be taken if the case was submitted to the police station.
