After forecasting additional rain for the upcoming month, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) released the weather outlook for September on Thursday. The Met Office predicts that at least two monsoon systems will likely bring substantial rains to the month of September.
According to the Met Department’s most recent forecast, September is anticipated to see normal to above average precipitation across the nation.”Over northeastern Punjab and Sindh, rainfall is anticipated to be above average.
The majority of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are expected to see normal to slightly above average rainfall throughout the forecasted month, although Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may only experience slightly above average rainfall.
Isolated heavy downpours can result in flash flooding in hilly areas of Punjab, AJK, and KP as well as urban flooding in plain areas like major cities in Sindh, Punjab, and KP. However, the risk is still reduced as predicted by the month’s climatology.
The electricity and agriculture industries will have access to enough water during the predicted month. The rains that fell in September may aid in the growth and vegetation of kharif crops.
