ISLAMABAD: Two holidays for Aushra (Muharram 9 and 10) were authorized by the federal government on Wednesday, according to a statement from the Cabinet Division.
The festivals, which fell on August 9 and 8, will be observed with pain and sorrow by Muslims worldwide, including Pakistanis.
The beginning of the new Islamic year, 1444 AH, and the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram fell on July 31, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
