BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan won its second Silver medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022, this time in the wrestling competition. After falling to Amarveer Dhesi of Canada in the Men’s Freestyle 125 kg final on Friday, wrestler Zaman Anwar took home the silver medal.
Intense combat between the two wrestlers resulted in Amarveer’s 2-9 victory. Zaman faced Mandhir Kooner of England in the semifinals. Pakistan now has five medals overall in the current games after Zaman Anwar’s win.
So far, the nation has won one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Inam Butt had already won a silver medal in the men’s freestyle 86 kg wrestling competition. Ross Connelly of Scotland was defeated by Inayat Ullah to win the bronze medal in men’s free style 65 kg wrestling.
