The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that England will visit Pakistan in September for the first time in 17 years to play seven Twenty20 matches. In December, they will play three Test matches against the Men in Green.

The following year, just after New Zealand cancelled their trip to the South Asian nation due to security concerns, England cancelled their tour of Pakistan. On September 20, seven Twenty20 International players in Karachi and Lahore kick off England’s tour’s first leg.

England will play three tests in December following the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia, the PCB announced in a statement. Zakir Khan, The highly successful series against Australia in March/April was “a demonstration of our event planning and operation skills,” according to PCB Director of International Cricket, “and I am confident we will be able to repeat them when England visits us for the first time since 2005.”
