Injured Haris Rauf is likely to be replaced by Mohammad Abbas in test team

Haris Rauf, who was sidelined for the remainder of the matches due to a grade-II quad strain, is likely to be replaced in the Test series against England by fast bowler Mohammad Abbas.

On the first day of the competition on Thursday, the right-arm pacer hurt himself as he rolled over the ball while fielding. He had Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) on Friday at the hospital.

The Haris Rauf sustained a grade-II strain, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) medical staff determined after reviewing the scans and their findings, the cricket organisation stated in a statement today.

Rauf will go to Lahore, where he will begin his rehabilitation at the National High-Performance Centre, according to the release.

Pakistan’s problems in the last two games will be made worse by the pacer’s absence, as the top bowler Shahid Afridi had already been ruled out of the series due to fitness concerns, leaving the bowling attack exposed.

Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the PCB, approached the players following the game and asked the seamer about his injuries. According to Haris, the physicians have advised him to take two weeks off from work.

Raja urged the players to make a powerful comeback as he talked to them. The PCB chairman reportedly said, “Win the Multan test and make a return to the series.”
The visitors scored 657 runs in their first innings and declared their second on 264-7, giving Pakistan an unlikely 343-run winning goal on a placid Rawalpindi surface.

Saud Shakeel scored the most points for the hosts with 76 as Pakistan fought valiantly and reached 268 before being eliminated in an exciting final session.

The third Test will be held in Karachi from December 17 to December 21. The second Test will take held in Multan from December 9 to December 13.
