The Legend of Maula Jatt will finally begin playing in Karachi’s Nueplex theatres today, following considerable controversy. The exhibitors announced the announcement on their social media accounts and encouraged followers to get tickets for Bilal Lashari’s masterful motion picture.
The Twitter handle announced on Wednesday that “Dear Patrons, The Legend Of Maula Jatt will start screening from tomorrow, Thursday, October 27 at Nueplex Cinemas.” “The title’s advance reservations will open at 8 p.m. today.” The cast, distributors, and team behind the movie applauded the choice. It is important to remember that Nueplex earlier said that it would not be screening the movie because the distributor’s demands were “outside of the industry norms.”
In a previous statement, the theatre owners had stated, “We find it extremely sad that The Legend of Maula Jatt’s distributor is requesting exhibition terms that are outside of standard business practise. Exhibitors cannot afford such strict conditions, especially now with the economy in such a state.”
Nueplex continued, saying, “We were hoping for a fairer approach in the future, since we are always here to welcome and screen any Pakistani film with open arms.”After a press conference last week, Nadeem Mandviwalla, the movie’s distributor, told that he won’t stop until every theatre in the nation has seen The Legend of Maula Jatt. Mandviwalla stated that talks with the other four theatre owners are still in progress. We’re not finished yet, he said.
“I won’t stop till every theatre in Pakistan shows this movie. Here, we’re attempting to strike a balance. As of October 20, The Arena has begun showing the movie. I’m hoping that shortly the rest of the theatres will join in.”
