ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, the coalition government sought that a full court considers the appeal filed in opposition to the decision made by Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari about the choice of the province’s chief minister.
In this regard, a joint statement has been made pleading with the chief justice to appoint a full bench to hear the case. Mazari disallowed ten PML-Q votes after party leader Chaudhry Shujaat instructed his legislators to support Hamza Shabaz, but they ultimately chose to back Pervez Elahi.
Elahi went to the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), whose three-member panel is currently hearing the matter, after losing the key election.
