PTCL and PPAF Work Together to Promote Women's Financial Inclusion Through Digital

Through training, access to digital and financial tools, and opportunities for economic growth, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Group and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) are working together strategically to promote the economic and digital inclusion of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan.

Adnan Anjum, the group chief commercial officer (GCCO), of the PTCL Group, and Nadir Gul Barech, the COO of PPAF, inked the agreement during a ceremony held at the Ufone Tower in Islamabad in the presence of senior officials from both companies.

With the help of this public-private partnership project, women business owners will be better equipped to build and sustain their enterprises. One hundred women entrepreneurs will receive training as part of the one-year pilot project, which will be conducted in four union councils and 10 villages in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district of Haripur.

With a focus on digital literacy, business skills, and life skills that will be useful in guiding start-up and small-scale firms towards success and sustainable growth, the participating institutions will implement a two-week training module utilizing a standardized high-impact curriculum.

As a focal location for the training sessions, PTCL will designate a physical area that will act as a digitally equipped Hub with access to basic amenities like internet and training rooms. In order to guarantee their full involvement, Ufone will also provide cellphones with registered SIMs and data packages for the project’s one-year duration.
