As part of its efforts to ensure the safety of children, Snapchat is introducing a new parental control feature. The instrument, according to the manufacturer, would simulate interactions between parents and teenagers in daily life.
Without seeing the contents of the conversations received, parents and guardians may keep an eye on teens and who they’re conversing with on the app using the “Family Center” area.
Before the tool is made available to both the guardian and the child, the youngster must accept the Family Center’s invitation. The parents will have access to their child’s friend list as well as a list of the accounts they’ve engaged with in the last week.
The business stated in a blog post that its objective was to develop a set of tools that would encourage cooperation and trust between parents and teenagers while also reflecting the complexity of real-world interactions. In the following weeks, the app will roll out more Family Center features, including more parental control options.
