The daily COVID-19 death toll in Pakistan increased dramatically overnight, with 11 more people succumbing to the virus, according to National Institute of Health (NIH) data released Friday morning.
The last time the number of coronavirus deaths reached this level was on March 3.Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 positivity ratio increased slightly, with 624 new infections recorded in the last 24 hours.
The new cases increased the positive rate to 3.83%, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,561,579. Meanwhile, 1,068 people who had been infected with the coronavirus recovered.Pakistan’s active case count increased to 9,256 following the latest fatalities and recoveries.
