BIRMINGHAM: On the opening day of track and field, Jacob Kiplimo won the 10,000-meter race, and Australian swimming star Emma McKeon won her 19th medal, making Commonwealth Games history.

McKeon outperformed shooters Michael Gault and Phil Adams, as well as fellow swimmer Chad le Clos, who had a terrible Games, experience in Birmingham.
