GALLR: On Thursday, Sri Lanka levelled the series at 1-1 after thrashing Pakistan by 246 runs in the second Test after losing the first one.The team’s skipper, Babar Azam, kept up his stellar form to almost single-handedly lead the tourists in the two-match series.
Azam’s scores of 119 and 55 helped the team win their first match after attempting to break the Galle record of 342.He scored 81 in Pakistan‘s monumental 508-run second Test chase, but it was a one-man battle against a motivated Sri Lankan spin attack.
The 27-year-old outstanding batsman has a 12-month average of over 63 and is currently third in Test batting, after Marnus Labuschagne and Joe Root.He is in the top spot in both the ODI and T20 rankings.
Abdullah Shafique, who began the first Test, gave it a series to remember with his game-winning 160 not out. Azam wasn’t the only traveller that stood out, by any means.
