According to government data released on Friday, nearly 90,000 individuals were treated for infectious and water-borne diseases in a single day in the flood-affected parts of southern Pakistan, where the death toll from the flooding has topped 1,500.
According to a report from the southern Sindh provincial government released on Friday, flooded areas have been plagued with ailments like malaria, dengue fever, diarrhea, and skin issues. Along with the 17,977 instances of diarrhea and 20,064 cases of skin illness announced on Thursday, it confirmed 588 cases of malaria and suspects another 10,604 cases.
