ISLAMABAD: To offer his condolences to the family of the murdered senior journalist Arshad Sharif, Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb visited them on Monday.
According to a Kenyan police report, Sharif was fatally shot in Kenya after officers searching for a stolen car mistakenly thought the journalists’ car, which was speeding through a roadblock without halting and was also thought to be carrying a child hostage, for the stolen car.
Marriyum Aurangzeb promised the family of Sharif that the government would not relent until justice was done.”Sharif was travelling an hour from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
The communications minister told reporters outside Sharif’s residence in the federal capital that initial reports indicated Kenyan police gestured for the Sharif’s automobile to halt.
